Central Broker System

The Central Broker System is comparable to a 'central intelligent post office'. This system allows all parties involved (such as the Joint Nautical Authority, VTS controllers, pilots and port authorities to communicate with each other.

  • Vessels in the Scheldt area need to register at three authorities:
  • the port to order a berth; the pilotage to request a pilot;
  • the VTS (Vessel Traffic Services) in accordance with internationally imposed obligations.

The data is processed in various systems, such as port information systems, the Pilotage Information System and the Information Processing System.
